About this tea
Shu Pu-erh is a rich, woody tea that recalls an autumn forest after a fresh rain. Its deep, earthy flavors will leave you feeling sated and grounded.
Our Shu Pu-erh is crafted from tender buds and two leaves of Camellia Assamica, harvested from trees in Lincang, Yunnan at an altitude of 1800m. Shu Pu-erh, sometimes called “ripe” Pu-erh, undergoes a special microbial fermentation process that turns the leaves deep brown and creates a woody, earthy aroma.
When brewed, the tea becomes a handsome mahogany color. Our Shu Pu-erh is a full-bodied tea with notes of wood, moss, and damp earth. The finish is sweet and smooth. We recommend steeping the leaves multiple times to see how the character of the tea changes throughout multiple infusions.
This tea is hearty enough to pair with more savory snacks and meals. Try it alongside classic Autumn fare like pumpkin or mushroom dishes. The bold flavor makes Shu Pu-erh a great alternative to coffee; it can even be brewed with milk and sweetener.
This selection was produced without pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers and harvested in March 2024.
